Ian Wright, Managing Director, is delighted to announce that Scott Milne has been appointed Director of WRI Associates Limited and will be accepting appointments on a variety of insolvency projects.
Scott has been with WRI Associates for over a year but as of April 1st he became our third licensed insolvency practitioner. This was no April fool instead a step we had been working towards since he joined us in November 2013.
Ian commented: “This is a massive step for WRI. We now have three Licensed IP’s and with the addition of David Angus who recently joined the team, our combined experience is now well over 100 years. Marrying that ability and experience to an efficient operation with low overheads means were are well placed to offer a cost effective service.
Scott is an all-round practitioner. He possesses detailed technical knowledge and the ability to react creatively in a challenging situation but is also happy building relationships and driving the mechanics of a project, so often a large part of successfully administering a company.
His wealth of experience and now his insolvency licence brings an invaluable asset to our team. His presence allows us to take on not only more work but more challenging work.”
As Assistant Director at Baker Tilly he spent over two years largely focussed on business development and he continues to enjoy cultivating new business at WRI Associates.
At Zolfo Cooper, where he was Associate Director before coming on board here, Scott’s responsibility included technical and compliance matters in the Scottish practice. He is adept at understanding and translating the technical knowledge which is essential to remaining compliant in the insolvency world.
As well as his work in this sector at Zolfo Cooper, Scott has had heavy involvement with the Insolvency Practitioner Association of which he is a member. He has helped to set and mark the Scottish CPI examinations and most recently drafted the Insolvency Practitioners Association Technical Help Sheets for all Scottish case types.
Making the move to WRI Associates was a logical one for Scott who commented “I’ve known the team at WRI for many years and was comfortable that the culture would be a good fit.
More importantly, I immediately understood that the structure of the business meant the costs associated were significantly lower than I’ve been used to, but there’s no compromise of service. In fact, arguably the opposite is true as the practitioners are very much hands on and each client has more time with a practitioner.”
The team draws together our collective experience in a niche business as well as an excellent contact base and offer these skills to the Scottish market at a competitive cost.
